I founded Softwood in 2017 with a simple ambition: to give authors access to professional publishing expertise while allowing them to remain in control of their books and their publishing journey. What began as a small business has grown into a team of publishing professionals, creatives and specialists supporting authors and organisations around the world — from Melbourne to Manchester, Texas to Tokyo.

Today, we offer expertise across every stage of publishing, from editing and design through to printing, distribution, marketing and beyond. But while we have grown, one thing has never changed: our belief that every author deserves to be treated as an individual. We take the time to understand each project, offer honest and straightforward advice, and build our services around what each client and each book actually needs.
